John Legend: Evolver

R&B master crafts an airwave-worthy album.

Evolver lives up to its name as Legend's melodic beats continue to advance in style. Cleverly, the majority of the tracks begin soft and dramatically evolve into a rhythmic climax. Songs such as Green Light and It's Over lean more towards hip-hop, complete with catchy dance beats and collaborations with both Andre 3000 and Kanye West respectively. Though the songs lack a sense of intricacy, they are still filled with positive content and well thought-out lyrics. Evolver is destined to be a hit with listeners.
