Vancouverite channels the soul of the West Coast with her new album.
If folk-rock or acoustic pop is your thing, do I have a treat for you! Pick up the new album by Laurell, an artist reminiscent of Colbie Caillat, but with a bit more grit in her voice and punch in her song. A native of BC, Laurell says she was inspired by the laid-back lifestyle of the coast: “I grew up snowboarding, skateboarding, surfing, wakeboarding... and there’s a music, a culture that surrounds that, that I was attracted to at a young age. I think that naturally worked its way into my music.” Lose yourself in the poppy beats and meaningful lyrics, and let the distinctly West Coast feel of the compilation overwhelm you.
