One Republic: Waking Up

One Republic: Waking Up

5 stars

Canada will rise and shine when they hear Waking Up.

One Republic's Waking Up includes a brilliant array of piano, percussion, guitar and keyboard styles. The talented vocals of lead vocalist Ryan Tedder carries each track, giving it a smooth and upbeat strength that distinguishes One Republic from all other bands. Track four, Everybody Loves Me, explodes with hints of U2 influences, which creates a rock feel among the pop-directed songs. Each song contains beautiful lyrics that collide with a wall of symphonic instrumental pieces. There is no way this album could disappoint!

good, but not their best

I definitely liked their previous album "Dreaming Out Loud" better because the songs like "Goodbye Apathy" and "All We Are" focused more on the lyrics and were not as pop as this album, but this album was still good, my favourite is either "Marchin On" or "Everybody Loves Me"
