Plants and Animals: La La Land

3 stars

La La Land is out-of-this-world extraordinary.

La La Land
is a very unusual feat from the equally out-of-the-ordinary band, Plants and Animals. The band’s music is hard to categorize, with its upbeat jazz riffs, classic rock, reggae and even the tiniest hint of big-band style influences, all rolled up into one fabulous CD. It's hard to imagine that this Canadian band actually started off as a purely instrumental band, when it is the outstanding vocals by Matthew Woodley, Warren Spicer and Nicolas Basque that really make La La Land a meaningful listen. "La La Land" typically refers to a state of mind, and you will definitely experience an incomparable state of mind while listening to Plants and Animals’ latest success.
