Southern belle Rosanne Cash gives tribute to her country roots.

The daughter of iconic country singer Johnny Cash, Rosanne Cash has continued the family legacy with her latest and twelfth album, The List. Cash presents soft covers of famous tunes passed down by her father from his list of 100 essential country songs that he wrote out for her as a lesson when she was a teenager. The List provides a much needed reflection of popular pop-country mixes of today and showcases melodies of true southern roots. Filled mostly with slow and heartbreaking songs, The List would do good to incorporate some classic upbeat hits. Appropriately so, the record may be more suited to mature tastes. However, anyone would find these songs to be relaxing background music.
