A desperately needed tribute to good ol’ punk rock.
British punk-rock/garage/pop band, The Vaccines, deliver a debut album that sounds like the lovechild of The Ramones and The Clash. It is refreshing to hear such a familiar sound in the form of simple, catchy lyrics and a few basic guitar chords. With tunes like Post Break-Up Sex and If You Wanna, you can't help but feel as if you've been transported to a London pub. It's nothing we haven't heard from the ‘70s punk-rock scene before, but it's everything we certainly missed about it with some new-age guitar pop thrown in. Not everyone will appreciate the band's efforts, but punk-rock fans will find that time machine to ‘70s London they were in search of.
