Wilco: Wilco (the album)

4 stars

Experimental songwriting makes Wilco an amazing listen.

This new 70's soft-rock inspired album from indie rock group Wilco is a great listen. The band may not be the most famous, but the band, led by singer Jeff Tweedy, clearly knows what it is doing! As a band known for its edgy, experimental music, this particular album is not quite as adventurous as its 2004 album A Ghost is Born. In fact, you might even get distracted as you’re listening to the music, as some tracks, such as Deeper Down, are just a bit boring, conventional and not as attention-grabbing. Listen to the experimental track Bull Black Nova though and your interest should be renewed. Another plus is the lyrics: catchy and inspiring, the lyrics speak to the listener. So here’s a tip: don’t miss out on this great seventh album effort by Wilco.

Hazel’s fave track: One Wing
