Much Music's SodaPOP Tour Kicks Off in Vancouver: Oh, What a Night!

Much Music's SodaPOP Tour kicked off in Vancouver on Saturday, June 5th and it was absolutely amazing! A friend and I found out we won the tickets just a few days before the concert. Since we were coming from Victoria, we threw a few things in our bags and were on the ferry to Van city for the weekend of our lives!

Being older teens we weren’t sure what to expect from SodaPOP, which gathered kids of all ages. It wasn’t a regular pop concert though as the tour is part of the Pop Goes the World campaign which aims to benefit Unicef's relief efforts in Haiti. The entire concert lasted about four hours and had five different artists performing, all with great and different sounds.

Toronto-born Alyssa Reid had a stunning voice - I am definitely a fan! Then The New Cities came out - we hadn’t seen them in concert before, and they were hilarious and amazing! Head-banging to the extreme.... We all squealed when they started to play Dead End Countdown! It was like one big dance party.

Next up was Danny Fernandes - I’d seen him in concert before, but had totally forgotten how good his hip-hop routines were - they were pretty slick. He even brought out his cousin Tyler who’s just been signed to a record label too, and played us a brand new song! Next was Jesse Labelle, whose voice was stunning. He played us a song that had been written for his first love, and I wasn’t the only girl in the audience who was getting teary! (So sweet!)

Finally, Hannah Montana Star Emily Osment came out, and the crowd went crazy. She’s not only super-talented, but definitely an amazing performer too - it’s hard to believe that confident singer/actor is still just a teenager!

After the concert, we got to meet and get autographs from all the artists with our meet-and-greet VIP passes! We even took a picture with some of the The New Cities’ guys! (So cute!) Thanks Youthink, for the best night EVER!

The meet-and-greet with the artists after the concert was a buzz of excitement!
