A solid debut from Linkin Park side-project.
In a small stylistic departure from his “regular” style, Linkin Park’s front man Chester Bennington shows off his shadowy side in his side project. In this new album, the darker subject matter is really appealing, and the vocals reflect the themes and are solid. There is a heavy use of synthesizers and other programmed sounds, but the album still retains a certain raw emotion in the music. The first two tracks don’t seem to belong on the album, and may not have been the best choices for the band’s first singles, but the rest of it flows naturally. All in all, a solid debut.
