Seasoned country artist takes off in a new direction with latest effort.
Casual fans of Dierks Bentley's catchy country-rock anthems may be surprised by his fifth studio album, the prominently bluegrass, Up on the Ridge. This time around, the American country artist makes plenty of use of acoustic guitars, fiddles - and (dare I say) - even banjos. However that's not to say that the album doesn't also have range - it does - from the jaunty bluegrass track Rovin' Gambler, to a folksy cover of the U2 classic Pride (In the Name of Love). The record even features tracks with guest artists like Miranda Lambert, making it a summer must-have for any true country music fan.
