Florence Welch has at last invited us into her self-contained musical world.

Lungs consists of quirky melodies, harps, choirs and galloping stomps to form a whirlwind of blissful belters and impressive lyrical talent. With lyrics like, “No dawn, no day, I’m always in this twilight, in the shadow of your heart,” Florence exposes her personal experience with love and pain throughout the album. From jumping on pub tables to bare her epic croon, to blagging awards and spots at various festivals, Welch has become well known for her ever-changing style and spellbinding performances on stage. Listen to Lungs then file under “E” for excellent.
