Four Year Strong: Enemy of the World

3 stars

Been there, done that.

Armed to the teeth with pounding percussion and electrifying screaming, hardcore punk quintet Four Year Strong offers up its energetic third album, Enemy of the World. Each track is a roller-coaster ride of confusion and angst. While consistently stimulating, this fast album plays it too close to the punk rulebook and Four Year Strong offers nothing beyond what has already been achieved in this genre. However, the amount of energy that this album emanates is incredible and a true asset for this band from Massachusetts; it is up to the band to grasp this energy and evolve. Otherwise, the impression that Four Year Strong leaves with me is: Been there, done that.

Flannel is the Color of My Energy
