Country music legend refuses to retire the spirit with his latest release.
Having now exceeded the 50-album marker, country music veteran Hank Williams Jr. is returning with yet another effort. The latest album is a collection of country-rock, bluesy rhythms and twangy riffs reminiscent of the old-school country of his father. The biggest problem is that it’s all been heard before; the bulk of his material seems pretty recycled from his last 52 years in the business. Although the album is hit hard by poor vocals, you may just be able to appreciate Hank Jr., if you can open up to the old-fashioned, cheesy country spirit that he seems to embody.
