Hockey: Mind Chaos

4 stars

Infectious grooves that will get you on the dance floor.

Hockey's opening track Too Fake is a fantastic, synth-adorned pop hit that sets towering heights for the rest of Hockey’s debut album, Mind Chaos. Although Too Fake definitely stands out, the 10 remaining tunes are full of the same stellar dance shakedowns and singer Benjamin Grubin's wacky vocals. The record is full of character and clever lyrics as demonstrated in Song Away, a funky number, in which Grubin sings, "See what man has done to the world, see what the world has done to your man." An impressive album that carries an infectious groove targeting fidgety feet, you can't help but bust a few moves along to Mind Chaos.
