The Pussycat Dolls Take the World by Storm

Sassy, confident and super talented, the Pussycat Dolls have proven they have the determination, flair and passion to not only survive in the music industry, but to also build a long-lasting career. After releasing their sophomore album, Doll Domination, and currently on the Circus tour with pop icon Britney Spears, these felines are on a hot streak. While on the Vancouver stop of their tour, lead singer Nicole Scherzinger spoke to Youthink about the Pussycat Dolls’ latest album, their evolution and how they plan on showing the world that they are here to stay.

Doll Domination, the second successful album from the Pussycat Dolls, is full of strong lyrics, amazing vocals and stories that anyone could relate to – and Nicole feels it definitely has more to offer then the group’s debut. “I feel like Doll Domination has more emotion and more substance and goes deeper than PCD,” she says.

And Nicole contributed more than just vocals to the album – she was actually very involved in the production process. “I helped to co-executive produce the album myself. That was my role when I signed on to be a part of the group, not only to be the lead singer, but to have a huge part in the music as well. So I’ve been blessed to have a hand in writing, co-writing some of the songs [and] vocally producing some of the songs.”

Beyond the music, although some may question the Dolls’ choice of outfits and somewhat provocative image, Nicole insists that PCD is a group of strong young women who stick by their morals and set a good example for teens: “I’m proud of myself and the girls because we try to lead by example by the way that we live. And we’re really just good girls who don’t get into the mess of drugs or drinking or any of that too much. We stay pretty grounded and try to stay out of all the hype and the stuff that’s not real.”

What is real though is the Pussycat Dolls’ talent. As I stood in the crowd of cheering fans later that night, watching the Pussycat Dolls perform, I couldn’t help but be amazed at what they do. These girls could sing, dance and, ultimately, keep a sold-out audience fully entertained! “I feel like the more people out there, then the more people you feed off of and it’s just an unbelievable feeling when you get onstage and the music turns on and the lights turn on and you just become a whole other person,”’ says Nicole about performing. “And even though there’s, like, thousands of people out there, I look out and feel like I can connect with every single person.”

By witnessing these girls in action and learning how they handle themselves in the crazy world that is show business, I could clearly see that the Pussycat Dolls are not your average pop girl group who change themselves to fit the mold. Instead, I see a powerful group of women who are in control of their future and who perform and entertain because they love to. Plain and simple, they have the passion that makes audiences want to sing and dance along and they’ve got the talent to back it up. The Pussycat Dolls are truly on their way to dominate the entertainment industry one stiletto-ed step at a time.
