Jakob Dylan travels the increasingly crowded folk music road with ease.
Jakob Dylan has released a new solo album, Women and Country, following in the footsteps of his legendary father Bob Dylan. He delivers colourful lyrics about life and love – much like his father – amidst a folksy background. He is the down and out character, watching from the sidelines, a roamer through the countryside and a philosopher of life. With sweetly confessional lyrics, crooning vocals, a brass ensemble and the slow, steady beat of drums as accompaniment, the album is pure weekend music – mellow and never rushed. Jakob’s raspy voice caresses each word, easily allowing the listener to feel the ease of a laid-back lifestyle through the music.
