On June 29th and 30th, thousands of screaming fans bombarded GM Place to see the Jonas Brothers live for the first time in Vancouver. Monday's show was delayed almost two hours when crew and equipment got delayed at the border but Tuesday's show ran nice and smooth.
Honor Society opened the concert and they were pretty good. I personally didn't know any of the songs they performed but they had their act together and put on a great show.
Jordin Sparks was next. She came out strong with her hit One Step at a Time and performed her most popular songs Tattoo and No Air. She even gave us a taste of her new album with the song Runnin' Slow. After five songs, Sparks said goodbye and just as the crowd thought it was time for the Brothers to step on stage, their dad comes out and introduces the Wonder Girls.
Although the crowd was getting a little anxious and impatient, the Wonder Girls put on a good show; getting inter-active with the crowd and teaching us how to dance to one of their songs. Once they left the stage, everybody knew that the Boys would be next.
The lights went down for a final time and the crowd went crazy. Queen's foot-stomping hit We Will Rock You starts and in the middle of the song, the Jonas Brothers emerge from the centre of their revolving stage. They open with their new single Paranoid and the crowd continued to scream. They played all their old hits from SOS to Hold On and the touching, When You Look Me in the Eyes. They gave us a taste from their new album Lines, Vines, and Trying Times with, Poison Ivy, Black Keys, Much Better, Turn Right, and the powerful, World War III. The Brothers even threw in a cover of Sweet Caroline for all the parents who accompanied their kids.
New for this tour, the Brothers had their stage in the middle of the floor, instead of at one end of the arena. There was a huge revolving stage in the middle and a catwalk on each side, allowing way more people too see and experience this amazing show. Nick did his inspirational Diabetes speech which brought tears to many eyes.
During Live to Party, Nick sat down at the drum set while Kevin and Joe strapped themselves into harnesses and were raised in the air. Once they were at maximum height, they started to spray all the screaming fans with water from huge hoses. A little less then half the arena got drenched, including me. Though it was all in good fun, they should have given some what of a warning. "What if somebody's allergic to water?!" said the girl sitting beside me, who was completely soaked, yet still laughing and cheering.
All in all, this concert was amazing. I may be biased but I found nothing went noticeably wrong with the Tuesday show. The Jonas Brothers put on an unbelievable show and the Vancouver fans proved that they are some of the loudest!
I love the Jo. Bros!
I seriously cried because I didn't go to their concert when they came to my town.
