Fully Loaded’s Got the Full Package

“With Fully Loaded, you get the whole package: solid musicianship, good tunes and a great live show,” says singer and guitarist Mike Twinning when asked the significance of his band’s name. With the release of their latest album Inside My Head full of catchy radio-friendly lyrics and edgy guitar riffs, it’s not hard to see why the name is particularly fitting.

The band was first formed as a duo comprised of brothers Mike and Andrew Twinning with the addition of bassist Chris Ball in 2005 and drummer Jovan shortly after. What started off as a garage band quickly exploded onto the Vancouver music scene at full force as the band won numerous contests, beginning with the CFOX 2006 Seeds Competition.

Fully Loaded struck while the iron was hot and released their self-titled EP in the same year, produced by Hedley bassist Tommy Mac. Concert performances followed, where audiences numbered in the thousands, many of whom were screaming female fans.

Fully Loaded’s latest EP reflects their status as an unsigned and self-managed independent band. The band fights against the current of corporate sell-outs sweeping across the industry and maintains their unique style and musical integrity on their latest album. “We like to write music that we like listening to. If you get the goose bumps when you listen to the song, you know it’s good music.”

However, Fully Loaded continues to be met with the challenge of procuring funds to support their music. Their new CD had to be recorded in two stages, as the boys went back to their day jobs after recording the first three songs in order to pay for the recording. All members are currently working full-time jobs in addition to making music. “I want to make music my career. In fact, everyone [in the band] has so much passion for music, we live and breathe music,” Mike declares with emotion.

With a successful single already receiving airplay from major rock music stations and a cross-country tour ahead, there is no doubt that Fully Loaded’s music career is on its way to great success.
