Hannah Georgas: The Beat Stuff

Hannah Georgas: The Beat Stuff

3 stars

Songstress proves Vancouver’s talent is limitless.

Read our interview with Hannah Georgas after she was nominated for two Juno Awards: New Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.

Hannah Georgas isn’t just another whiny guitar girl. Her debut EP, The Beat Stuff, features catchy and clever indie-pop songs with interesting lyrics sung in a way that is almost, excuse the pun, Feist-y. The EP melds a variety of energetic songs with some more melancholy tunes such as Gabriella, which are alright, but the Vancouver-based songstress definitely seems more in her element on upbeat tracks such as Let’s Talk and The Beat Stuff. Despite the contrast, the EP is definitely worth a listen, and gained a spot not only my iTunes list, but on my mom’s most-listened-to iTune list as well.

Adrienne’s (and my mom’s) fave track: The Beat Stuff
