Punk rock band from the 70s makes a spirited comeback.
The New York Dolls, a 70s era band, mixes up a sound between the Rolling Stones and The Doors, but with a more bluesy vibe in ‘Cause I Sez So, the band’s second release since its regrouping in 2004. Credited by some as being punk rock pioneers back in the day, this type of music seems better suited for people of an older generation – mainly, the original fans of the band. On the New York Doll's fourth studio record, the songs have a certain distinct repetitiveness to them, although every single track on this album does have compelling lyrics. Packed with upbeat tracks like ‘Cause I Sez So but also slower simple songs like Making Rain or Drowning, this album is a good listen for a mellow day during the summer whether you’re at the beach or just relaxing at home.
