Great band name, but lousy music.
With a band name like The Telepathic Butterflies, you'd expect the music to be just as original as the name. In my opinion though, there is nothing spectacular about the Winnipeg band’s latest album, Wow & Flutter! At times, the singing sounds strained, and other times, it’s just plain off-key. However, that's not to put down the whole CD. There are rare times during the songs where you start to feel more of a connection with the pop-rock music, such as in tracks like Circle Man, Elegy and A Call to Arms. Meanwhile, the instrumentals were good, but not oh-my-gosh worthy. All in all, Wow & Flutter! is a rather bland CD, with little variation from song to song. Don’t buy this CD unless you actually want monotonous and repetitive entertainment.
