Violent Soho: Violent Soho

2 stars

Violent Soho’s music is loud, heavy and unchanging.

Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, Violent Soho delivers a familiar style of raw and heavy guitar sounds in the group’s sophomore self-titled album. I would not recommend this CD to people who do not enjoy constant loud music because although the tracks were changing, the volume of the music stayed the same. The consistently loud volume made the songs sound rather monotonous, as did the unvarying melodies. The lack of creative material paired with the monotony of the tunes made this album only just acceptable, with much room for improvement. Like bad wine, this grunge rock band left a sour taste in my mouth; but with time, I believe its flavour could improve.
