Westbound Train: Come and Get It

2 stars

Boston boys have unique sound, but not enough variety.

Westbound Train’s fourth album sounds much the same as its first three, but I appreciate how unique the band’s sound is. The ska genre mixed with reggae is a nice change from the pop and rap that is constantly playing on the radio. However, once I listened to the album a few times over, I found myself yawning, and was ready to go back to enjoying T.I. and Paramore. While the music was a refreshing change, I had trouble differentiating when a song started and finished. Westbound Train’s next album is in great need of a lot more variety than what they’ve given audiences so far.

Alexandra’s fave track: Cheers! The World’s Almost Over
